Ch. 2 Golden Sacrifices
I walk outside my house and look back, unsure if I will ever see it again. I already waved good bye to Mom and Dad, but I haven't said anything to Tessa. I don't think I could've done it without bursting into tears. Instead, I just looked into her room, waved, and walked out of the house. The invitation said to go to the nearest bus stop to get picked up. I wonder why they want us to transport us to the Golden Saber Bowl on a bus, but I sit on the curb anyway. Almost instantly, a long limousine pulls up against the curb, half an inch away from my foot. "Petronella Trumani. Your ride is here." I hear a raspy voice waft through the window. I wince at my full name. I always hated the sound of my name. Petronella. It sounds like some sort of robot. Petronella number 202. Ugh! I hate my name!
I lean into the car, and sit on the velvet seat. The sickly strong scent of hazelnut and vanilla overwhelms me as I lace my fingers in my lap, and give a very nervous smile. The raspy voice drifts into my ears once more, "Are you hungry Miss Petronella?" Before I can answer, a tray pops out of the floor with cream of chicken soup and carrots placed on top. I had to give whoever cooked this some points on presentation. The smell of the broth made the scent of hazelnut and vanilla disappear slightly. I pick up the metal spoon with lacy engravings on it, and take a small sip of soup. The richness of the cream, and the tender, juicy chicken bites made me want to lick the bowl. Forget presentation, I'm going for the taste. "Would you like seconds Miss Petronella?" the voice calls again. I didn't even have to say anything before another bowl of soup is at my pale hands. I gulp it down in four large spoonfuls. I lie back and pat my stomach. Despite the large portions and the density of the dish, I am still very hungry. It was only then when realized I haven't eaten in one day.
I almost dozed off when another tray popped out of the ground with a tiny steak and a mountain of vegetables stacked on top of it. As soon as I see the juice from the meat leak out, I hungrily snatch the knife and fork and dig in.

Once there was a beautiful sister, and a ugly sister. The beautiful one was kind... as usual :)... And the ugly sister was as mean as a with... (AS USUAL).... Well one day while they were farming.. A charming prince came along... He was amazed by the beautiful sister's beauty and loved her at sight. The prince asked the beautiful sister to marry him and she said yes...The ugly sister was very jealous.. Before the day of their wedding, the ugly sister got soooo jealous that she cut of her sister's head.  Yes its horrible. But the beautiful sister's head was so beautiful that she preserved it in a jar. Few days later when the prince and the ugly sister were eating dinner, the prince left to go to bed, but the ugly sister still ate. *CREEEEEK* went a sound... The ugly sister looked around. she saw nothing unusual other than her sister's head. It seemed like it had turned a bit. She got freaked out so she went to bed.
The next day at dinner, the prince again went to bed early again and the ugly sister remained eating.. This time she heard a *SQUISH*.... Nothing unusual but the sister's head. And again it seemed as if the head had turned slightly again.
This repeated for 10 days untill one day the head was staring at the ugly sister. Again the prince went to bed. There was silence to day. She thought it was odd and she looked back at the head. The eyes were now open, and her mouth was opening... she said .. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!  The ugly sister died of fright...      THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!
( when you tell the story... when you say boo, jump at them... My sister frightened me sooo much that i couldn't go to sleep.. BTW THIS IS MY VERSION OF THE STORY. Her version was that the head rolled out of the bed where she kept the head.) GOOD LUCK TELLIN THE STORY

Ch. 1 Invitation for an Old Friend
Bianca's timid little hands touch mine, ever so gently. "Take good care of Raina. We have always butted heads, but, I still loved her."
My cheeks lost their color. Why was she saying this? She wasn't going to die. She was going to live a full and long life just like any other sixteen year old. Lymphoma can't bring her down. Nothing can. Now, she's bringing her sister into it. All of this is making my head spin and burn. Through all of the confusion, I blurted out, "Stop it! Your not going to die! I won't let you!" Bianca's eyes softened, the pain withdrawing from her glance. She even managed the smallest of smiles. "I think we both know what's coming next Nelly. When I leave though, I want you to have this. Something that will always remind you of me."  She handed me a sapphire necklace, the blue jewel glinting in the faint sunlight illuminating through the closed blinds.  Her lips pursed together, "Nelly, I have to tell you something." I nodded, unsure of what to expect. She sighed,"When I was littler, I got a letter saying that I had to participate in this thing called 'Golden Saber Bowl' or they would kill my family. I didn't really believe them until I found my cat dead with a note taped to him saying 'Your first warning Bianca'. The problem was, there was no return address to the letter, so I didn't know what to do. I became so stressed out, I yelled to the sky 'I give up OK? I will participate in the Golden Saber Bowl!' Oddly, they actually heard me. They sent me another note saying where it was, the rules, what happens if you die...." Her voice trailed off. My temples started pounding.
    "Bianca, I have to go?"
"Nelly... if I was in any better shape you know I would do it."
    "How do I do it?"
"Just answer the questions correctly, don't try to please him, just be honest. That's how you win the game. You are playing against other people who have been chosen for this.Just don't trust the guy who is giving you the questions. You cannot tell anybody, and you'll be gone for a week-"
"A whole week? What will I tell my parents?"
"Tell them beforehand you have a camp that lasts for a week."
    "And if they say no?"
"Then beg, and get them to do it."
"Bianca I don't know about this"
"Look Nelly, I don't have much time. Wear this necklace during the game, and you'll be...fine..."
I could tell I overworked her. She became as white as a ghost, and the pain was fierce in her eyes. So many questions bubbled through my mind. Why would they need a week to have people answer questions? Bianca looked up at me,"Nelly, you'll be fighting for your life. If you answer wrong, he'll kill you on the spot. At the end, your on your own to survive against him. If you can last six days without getting killed, your reward is your life. Be smart. And the word 'allies' will be helpful." I tried to process all of this without screaming at Bianca for not telling me this before. Instead, I had her lay back into her bed, and wait until the dreaded moment arrived. The silence between us made me tear up. She held my hand tightly, her ebony knuckles tightening with every second. Finally, after two minutes of praying for her life, her grip loosened, and her eyes closed calmly. She looked like a little angel sleeping. Yet, the image sickened me. Bianca's dead. And I might have to die too.

The yucca flowers greeted me with their open bloom. The hot Albuquerque sun makes a bead of sweat trail down my neck as I try to plant new sunflowers. I swallow hard as I try  not to look down. Down there, all there is, is ground. Nothing to save me if I fall. Just hard ground. My breath catches in my throat when I start to think about Ore and how he risked his own life to save mine.  Back then, I had hundreds of people to catch me if I fell. Now, I have no one.
I could still vividly remember when I did have all the people in the world to catch me. It was so long ago though when they all started to die. My brother, Ore, was the last one.
When I was six, I went swimming one day and accidentally dove into the one foot area and my spinal chord broke, making it impossible for me to move my legs.  Now, I am twenty nine and have been slowly regaining control over my feet since I was sixteen. I still fall as much as a baby does. Due to my inability to walk efficiently, a person was always by my side to catch me if I fell. I grew so attached to all these people, it almost killed me when each one died. I started to rely on them to be there for me. When I turned eighteen though, all of them started to sick, or injured seriously. My parents, my grandparents, even my close friends. All of them passed in my weak arms.

i sorta failed at this story. I made up as i went so 2BC L8TR!!!!!!! (to be continued or changed later)
